An impulsive outing

An impulsive outing

Yesterday in the morning I went to the Ashram just to see my young friend Navel Agarwal, who used to stay in the guest room in the Home. I took a special Imam Pasand mango that my friend Ramraj has brought when he visited me during the weekend. I had to wait in the bus stop for nearly half an hour for the bus to arrive. Couple of times I thought of dropping the plan and returning home.

By the time I went to the ashram the discourse by the Swamiji was over. As I called Navel I could see him walking across the ground towards me. I gave him the mango. He was so happy. He asked me to go and get the blessing of Swamiji.

I had no plans to attend any other programme. He suggested we go up the hillock to the Murugan temple. After the darshan we sat by the side of the temple enjoying the excellent view and the pleasant breeze. We talked about various things – people in the Home, the movies, food, Vedanta etc. It was so nice being able to talk so freely and laugh with him. I told him about the net-connectivity problem of not being able to watch Utube uninterrupted. He suggested that I turn the programme on and then put it in pause and go about doing other things and watch it after the entire programme downloads.

When I came home, I did that and it works. I was thrilled.

It was a simple outing. It gave me so much happiness. I am glad I went.
